SM City Tarlac | Tarlac, Philippines

SM Supermall in Tarlac covers a total floor area of 70,000 square meters. It has its own six-storey parking with direct access to the mall from the 2nd and 3rd floors. This four-storey mall offers a world of shopping convenience. It houses four movie theaters, a food court, a well-rounded mix of specialty shops and F&B outlets. The mall is anchored by SM Department Store and Hypermart. The ground floor level is designed to house an array of branded specialty shops and fast food outlets with al fresco dining under a protective canopy. The façade is made of metal cladding in varying shades of blue highlighted by embedded LED lights. When lit, the lights create a glowing effect that transforms the simple façade into an exciting feature of the building. The interior finishes are simple and tasteful. The floor’s gradient color and the ceiling’s white textured finish give the mall a soft, warm feel. A skylight designed to resemble a clerestory veers away from the typical flat, glass ceiling. This innovative and cost efficient skylight produces diffused lighting while deflecting heat and reducing glare; thus adding to the overall warm ambiance. The sophisticated, soft and muted colors and lighting achieve the design objective to minimize distracting elements and make the stores the customers’ main focus.
